(Meme edition)
First and foremost, Pure World would love to wish all of you a happy, safe, successful , and relaxing holiday season. This adventure filled year has flown by to say the least. Looking back, we have a lot to be thankful for and looking forward there is a lot to be excited about.
So from the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your support whether you bought one of our products or tossed us a few likes throughout the year, you mean the world to us. Now that the holiday season has finally arrived, we'd like to offer some tips to stay sustainable, environmentally friendly, and pure this time around.
1. Most wrapping paper is not recyclable, find an alternative - Each year in the U.S about 4.6 million tons of wrapping paper are used , and about half of that ends up in landfills. In the U.K about 227,000 miles of wrapping paper go to waste each year. Alternatives to wrapping paper can be as simple as old maps, newspaper, a scarf or cloth or tapestry of some sort, or no wrapping paper at all! Imagine how much $ one could save without using wrapping paper while also having a major impact on bettering our environment.
2-Energy-saving LED holiday lights - As an alternative to your traditional LED holiday lights, you can swap to energy-saving LED lights and reap the many benefits. According to the U.S department of energy, if everyone in the country were to make the swap at least two billion kilowatt hours of electricity could be saved. That amount of energy can power 200,000 homes for an entire year! This easy and affordable swap will save money in your wallet while also saving the environment.
3-Get a pesticide free tree - With increasing popularity, organic Christmas tree farms can be found in most towns and cities. Some farms use more than 40 pesticides on their Christmas trees to preserve the color and liveliness of the tree, these pesticides are harmful to the environment.
4- Shop local for sustainable gifts- If you do need to shop retail for your gifts, try to limit the amount of packaging you're buying. If you can avoid retail, shopping local is an amazing way to give back to your community and reduce your impact on the world. Trust us, both the planet and the person you're giving to will appreciate this one.As a shameless plug, Pure World is currently selling entire collections at discounted prices of up to 40% off.
