Benefits of Using Hemp

Hemp is highly resistant to mold, mildew, and rot making it ideal for humid climates or traveling.

Hemp is highly renewable and fast growing. Hemp matures in as little as 100 days and can be harvested up to 3x per year. It can yield 200-250% more fibre in the same amount of land, compared to other textiles such as cotton.

Hemp wears in, not out. Hemp's tensile strength is up to 8x stronger when compared to other textiles.

Hemp is a natural plant fibre and is made from bast fibre from the stem of the Cannabis Sativa plant. Unlike synthetic fibers (ie. polyester, acrylic, or nyion), which are made from synthesized chemicals that are derived from petrochemicals (i.e. crude oil).

Hemp is a natural plant-based fibre, which means unlike synthetic textile, the fabric does not contain or shred microplastics.

Researchers have identified hemp's potent activity against bacteria (including MRSA and E. Coli) and fungal strains, as well as possess a broad spectrum of antibacterial activity.

The hemp plant is unmatched in its ability to absorb and trap Carbon Dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere. It has been shown to absorb more CO2 per hectare than any tree or commercial crop.

Hemp requires about half the amount of water compared to other textiles (i.e. polyester, nylon, and cotton).

Hemp is 100% biodegradable and compostable.
